Introduction: The Lord gave me some insights as I was praying a few years ago about Smith Wigglesworth's prophecy "The Great Revival,” (I have only included the central ones here). These came in the same way as I would usually receive a prophecy i.e. as a series of symbolic pictures each with a very clear meaning - so this isn't something that I worked out through rational analysis. Click here to see the full prophecy from Smith Wigglesworth.

A Global Revival: I was shown that this prophecy is looking at the Great Revival from a British perspective. This was because Smith Wigglesworth was himself a British man who was mainly prophesying here to British Christians. I saw that this does not mean however that the Great global Revival itself will necessarily centre on Britain, that it will necessarily start in Britain, or that it will necessarily have more power in Britain than anywhere else in the world. Today many people are making these assumptions even though this word itself doesn’t actually state these things.

[If God were speaking to another nation about this same revival He may have tailored it to be relevant to them instead of to Britain and the word may then have centred on that other nation instead of the UK. Note; for an e.g. of this see this other prophecy by Hudson Taylor, (click here for the full word). This is also referring to the great end times global revival but it is looking at this from a Russian perspective. Hudson Taylors word states “'In Russia I saw there will come a general all-encompassing national spiritual awakening so great that there could never be another like it. From Russia I saw the awakening spread to many European countries. Now compare that to Smith Wigglesworth’s word which is looking at this global revival from a British perspective, “The out pouring of God's Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to the mainland of Europe, and from there will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth”. One may mistakenly think that these words contradict each; that one states that the great end time’s revival will start in Russia and spread to the rest of the world from there, the other that it will start in the UK. When we take into account who the Lord was addressing in each of these prophecies and examine the precise wording used it becomes clear that in neither case did God actually say that this global revival would necessarily start in either of these nations. We cannot therefore assume from these prophecies that this is the case therefore.]
